How to Heal With Singing Bowls
Alternative medicine practitioners see Tibetan singing bowls as a source of calming and healing energies. These bowls come in many different materials and sizes, ranging from thick-sided bronze to delicate white crystal. They usually have rounded bottoms cushioned on sand-filled pillows or rubber rings and relatively straight sides. The larger bowls give deep, low tones while the smaller bowls give higher tones. Players often combine different sizes and tones of bowls during healing sessions, though they usually don't mix materials.Singing bowl healers believe that the tones created by singing bowls harmonize with chakras or energy points in the human body. Unbalanced chakras create illness and prevent healing while balancing them with harmonics helps the body heal and eradicate illness.

1
Set up a place for the patient to lie down. Use a long foam cushion about 30 inches wide and 6 feet long and covered in pretty, soft fabric. Use a private room and block off the actual healing area with attractive privacy screens to create a serene area.

2
Have the patient lie down and get comfortable. Help them place pillows and give them a blanket if the room is cool. Let them put in foam earplugs; these are gentle and won't block all of the sound but will help keep the bowls from sounding too loud.

3
Place a larger bowl on the patient's chest and another above his head. Gently strike the bowl on the person's chest as he breathes deeply and slowly. The vibrations will begin to resound through the body and they will be able to feel the vibration.

4
Gently strike the bowl near the patient's head as the tone from the first bowl begins to fade. Pick it up and sweep it up and down the patient's body, making sure to move it along each leg and over each arm. If you know where the ailment is, hold it over that area for several seconds. Repeat several times.
