How does anthrax reproduce?

Asexual Reproduction (Binary Fission)

- This is the primary method of reproduction and survival in anthrax bacteria.

- In this process, the vegetative cell grows and divides into two identical daughter cells.

- The division occurs in a transverse manner.

- Each of the daughter cells subsequently expands to the original size of the parent cell and divides further, leading to exponential population growth.

- Under ideal conditions, such as the availability of nutrients and favorable temperatures, anthrax can reproduce rapidly, with the potential for a single bacterium to multiply into millions within hours.
