How to Kill Bed Bugs by Freezing Them

Bed bugs, true to their namesake, are found in beds. They are also found in other pieces of furniture such as couches, sofas, recliners and pretty much any piece of furniture they could hide in. Bed bugs are vile parasites that feed on your blood at night while you sleep. It is advisable to attempt to exterminate them before they cause any illness. On top of that they are just not sanitary to have living in your bed and furniture. Freezing bed bugs is a viable method of exterminating them.

      Capture bed bugs by vacuuming affected areas such as beds, couches, sofas, recliners or any other areas that are known to have bed bugs.

      Take the bed bugs from the vacuum's reservoir and place them in a resealable bag. Seal the bag tightly so they cannot escape.

      Place the resealable bag in the freezer and set the temperature below freezing. The Since freezing is 32 degrees Fahrenheit or 0 degrees Celsius, the temperature should be set below that.

      Leave the bed bugs in the bag in the freezer for at least 2 weeks to ensure extermination. Dispose of them after they are deceased.
