How to Use Termidor to Kill Bedbugs
Bed bugs are notoriously difficult to get rid of. One possible method of extermination is the insecticide Termidor. Although technically designed to exterminate termites and certain species of ants, Termidor has been embraced in some circles as an effective method of killing bed bugs. This is because Termidor works slowly, exposing individual insects, and then allowing them to carry the poison to others, thus killing more insects than other insecticides. Be warned, though, that Termidor is a highly toxic substance, and its use should not be taken lightly.Things You'll Need
- Zippered plastic sealed enclosure large enough for all infested items
- Termidor solution
- Pair protective gloves
- Long-sleeved shirt
- Long pants
Instructions

-
1
Wearing gloves and protective clothing, transport all infested materials outdoors to an empty, well-ventilated area clear of any objects that you do not wish to expose to Termidor.
-
2
Using the instructions on the Termidor unit, mix the solution in buckets. Only mix one five-gallon bucket of Termidor solution at a time. One bucket should be more than enough.
-
3
Place infested materials into zippered plastic enclosure.
-
4
Apply Termidor solution using enclosed spray bottle before sealing off plastic enclosure.
-
5
Wait 3-5 days before attempting to come in contact with infested material. Termidor is slow-acting and needs time to come in contact with active bed bugs.
-
6
Remove items from enclosure. Clean thoroughly. For wooden furnishings, consider refinishing or repainting.
