How to Stop Itching Bee Bites

Bees provide the honey that sweetens foods, drinks and desserts. Even though they are valuable, many people go the other way when they see a bee because they don't want to get stung. Getting stung by a bee hurts, but there are ways to lessen and eventually stop the pain. If you are allergic to bee stings, contact your doctor immediately.

Things You'll Need

  • Tweezers
  • Soap and water
  • Calamine lotion
  • Over the counter hydrocortisone creme
  • Ice pack

      Remove the stinger as soon as possible. If it is visible, use your fingers. If your fingers are too large, or if it is too deep in the skin, use a pair of tweezers.

      Wash the area with soap and water.

      Apply something to stop the itch. Calamine lotion is great, but there are also things in your cabinets that you can use if need be such as toothpaste, honey, vinegar, baking soda, meat tenderizer paste and aloe vera gel.

      Place an ice pack on the stung area for 15 minutes. Do this every three hours.

      Apply an over the counter hydrocortisone cream to the area.
