1
Buy an insecticidal shampoo and a fine tooth comb.
-
2
Draw a hot bath, as hot as you can tolerate. Keep the water hot throughout the duration of your bath by constantly adding hot water.
-
3
Lather your hair using the insecticidal shampoo. Follow the directions on the shampoo bottle. Make sure to use shampoo designed for humans. Using flea shampoo that is designed for dogs or cats can harm you.
-
4
Soak in the hot water for a minimum of half an hour. Use a loofah or sponge to cleanse your skin with soap. Make sure you clean between your toes, around the ankles and over the whole foot. Flea bites are most common in this area. Scrub along the hairline, behind the ears and on the back of the neck. Fleas are attracted to hair.
-
5
Rinse yourself off in the shower.
-
6
Fill a large bowl with hot soapy water and put it beside you. Beginning at the roots, pull the comb all the way down through your hair slowly. Rinse the comb in the bowl of water. It helps to keep record of how many fleas you are extracting. This will help you to understand the flea population in your home. You may have to complete this process several times. Fleas are very resilient. Keeping a record will help you to see improvements.

7
Bathe twice a day everyday until the problem is solved.
