How to Treat a Wolf Spider Bite

Wolf spiders are poisonous spiders that comprise almost 250 species. However, their venom is not lethal, so nobody has ever died from a wolf spider bite. However, the bites can be irritating and annoying. A fully grown wolf spider is hairy and can be anywhere from ½ inch to 2 inches long. These spiders differ from normal spiders because they do not live in webs.

Instructions

    • 1

Look at the bite and see if it is just one bite or several. Wash the area around the bite with cool water and mild hand soap.

    • 2

Wash the bite with an antibacterial soap but do not rub the area roughly. Be gentle and do not use hot or very cold water.

    • 3

Place an antibacterial ointment such as Bacitracin or Neosporin over the area around the bite. Dress it with gauze pads.

    • 4

Fill an ice bag with ice and place it over the dressed area. Keep it on for 10 minutes and then off for 10 minutes. Keep doing this until the pain begins to subside.

    • 5

Elevate the area where you have received the bite. This will help reduce swelling, and reduced swelling means less pain.
