Visit your dermatologist immediately upon first notice of symptoms. If you suspect you may have come into contact with scabies or are experiencing itching accompanied by a rash, see your dermatologist right away for testing and diagnosis.

Fill your prescription for scabies treatment cream. Prescription skin creams typically contain 5 percent permethrin, lindane or crotamiton to kill the mites and eggs.

Apply the prescription cream diligently according to the directions.

Wash all of your bedding, towels and any clothing that your skin has come into contact with since infection. Use the hottest setting on your washer.

Put your clothes, towels and bedding into the dryer and allow the clothes to heat at the hottest setting for up to 60 minutes.

Vacuum your entire living area including the furniture and rugs. Remove your vacuum bag and discard immediately once complete.

Spray any items that may have come into contact with your skin with disinfectant spray. These items may include hair brushes, sponges, telephones, chair arms and computer keyboards.
