Instructions

Dispose of your infested bed mattress where the bed bugs are existing in your Boulder residence. You can also encase an infested mattress and box springs in air-tight mattress bags and keep them sealed for at least a year to kill the bugs and interrupt their life cycle.

You will know your residence is infested if you can see small spots of blood and bug droppings on your mattress. The bugs will also probably have infested your clothing and other furniture in the home.

Wash all your bed linens and place them in a hot dryer for two to three hours.

Repeat the hot drying cycle two or three more times.

Wash your clothes and place them in a hot dryer for two to three hours.

Repeat this process as you did with your bed linens. You can also take your clothes to a professional cleaning service, but high heat will kill the bugs in you dryer.

Clean your carpets and fabric furniture thoroughly with a steam cleaner.

Go over each steamed area at least two times.

Place any items that cannot be machine washed and dried or steam cleaned, in black plastic trash bags and let them sit in a car under a bright Boulder sun for at least a day.
