Spread your jeans out on a flat surface in front of you, making sure they are right-side-out.

    • 2

Hold the seam ripper with the hooked blade aiming outward. Start at the cuffed bottom of one of the pant legs and insert the tip of the seam ripper into the outer seam of the leg. Lift upward and snap the first thread.

    • 3

Slide up the pant leg, repeating Step 2 with the seam ripper. Do this all the way up until you reach the waistband of the jeans. Repeat these steps with the other side.

Wash the jeans with your next load of wash and dry as normal. Turn them right-side-out if they turn inside-out during the washing and drying cycles. Shake the pants out in front of you. This step opens the pants up and washes away the cut threads, leaving only the primary seams of the legs and hips.
