How to Remove Nitt Glue
Nits are the eggs that lice lay in your hair during an infestation. Female lice lay these nits on your hair strand, roughly 1/2 inch above your scalp. The most common laying areas are at the nape of the neck and behind the ears. The nits are white when they are first lain, but turn a dark brown just before the lice hatch. The nits are stuck on by a glue excreted by the female. This glue is quite strong, considering it came from such a small creature. To remove the glue and dislodge the nits, you will need to use a special nit comb.Things You'll Need
- Lice shampoo
- Lamp
- Metal nit comb
- Bowl of soapy water
- Paper towels

1
Wash the hair with a head lice insecticidal shampoo. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to the letter. This is not an essential step. It will not kill the nits in the hair, but it will kill adult lice and stop them from spreading.
-
2
Towel the hair dry so that it is no longer dripping wet. Then coat the hair in olive oil to help the nit comb slide through. Use a regular comb to comb out any tangles.
-
3
Place a lamp or other light directly above the hair for better viewing. The comber should sit so that the infested head of hair is below her.

4
Use the nit comb to comb the hair from the base of the scalp to the ends. Use large bobby pins or hair clips to separate a thin section of hair that is just about as wide as the nit comb. Hold one end of the hair away from the head with one hand. Then pull the comb slowly through the hair from the scalp to the ends of the hair 2 to 3 times to remove the nits. Once the nits have been removed from that section of hair, dip the comb in the bowl of soapy water then use a paper towel to wipe off any nits. Section off the treated hair so that it is clearly separate from the untreated hair. Then comb another thin section until you have worked through the whole head.

5
Wash the hair with regular shampoo to remove the olive oil and any lice or nit residue.
-
6
Examine the hair again, small section by small section. If any nits remain adhered to the hair, cut those hairs off with a small pair of scissors.
-
7
Check the hair weekly for signs of re-infestation. Comb out any nits that you find as soon as you notice them.
