How to Use Meat Tenderizer to Neutralize a Spider Bite
The old wives' tales about using meat tenderizer to cure a spider bite have actually proven to be true. Papain, the active ingredient in meat tenderizer, also has the power to break down the protein in the venom of a spider bite. Although not a sufficient treatment for severe bites and stings, it's a quick, easy and effective treatment for minor ones.Things You'll Need
- Antibacterial soap
- Wash cloth
- Meat tenderizer
- Cotton balls
- Bowl
- Ice cubes
- Adhesive bandage

In a small bowl, make a paste of meat tenderizer and water. Soak one or two cotton balls in the paste for at least two minutes.

While the cotton balls are soaking, gently wash the bite area with antibacterial soap and a wash cloth. Be careful not to further irritate the skin.

Rub the area with one of the cotton balls. This should begin to alleviate the pain from the bite.

Rub the infected area with an ice cube. This will help reduce the swelling.

Cover loosely with an adhesive bandage.
