How to Stop Sac Spider Bites

A sac spider is a small, pale spider that lives outdoors, but it is often found inside enclosed and dark spaces in homes. Sac spider bites often occur while gardening or performing outdoor activities. They are called sac spiders because they do not make webs but live in tube-like sacs. Sac spider bites are harmless and the most common type of spider bite, but are often misdiagnosed as a brown recluse spider bite. There are many things you can do to avoid sac spider bites.

Instructions

    • 1

If you are aware of sac spiders in your home, shake your clothes before you get dressed in order that any sac spiders will cleave off.

    • 2

Wear clothes that cover your arms and legs so that there is no exposed skin when gardening or performing outdoor activities.

    • 3

Apply tape or caulk to seal off cracks or open crevices of your windows and doors so that sac spiders can't enter.

    • 4

Inspect for tube-like sacs in upper corners of rooms, ceilings, behind picture frames or window blinds. You can destroy the sac by putting it in water or set it free outside.
