1
Remove food sources. Remove debris that rests against your home. This includes wood piles or old boards. Insects can accumulate in these items, attracting spiders. Keeping your trees and shrubs trimmed will also exclude interesting prey for spiders.

2
Replace your porch light bulbs with yellow light bulbs, suggests The Ohio State University. Insects aren't as attracted to yellow bulbs as regular bulbs, which means less spiders.
-
3
Seal small holes around your home with caulk to prevent spiders from coming in. Remove any damaged screens on your doors and windows. Replace them with tight-fitting screens.

4
A vacuum can remove webs and egg sacs. Vacuum any webs you see around your home. Also vacuum any spiders you see, as they won't be able to survive being suctioned into your vacuum. Alternatively, you can use a broom to remove any cobwebs that you see.

5
A forceful jet of water will get rid of spiders. Spray the exterior of your home with water from a hose to remove any spider webs. Regularly spray the exterior of your home, especially around window shutters if you have them.

6
Place sticky traps along the baseboards around your home. Put sticky traps in your attic, garage and under your beds and furniture. Throw used traps into your trash.
