How to Get a Tick off Your Head
Ticks are small mites that attach themselves to large animals and sometimes humans. They are usually found in woody areas and hide in tall grass and trees. When a tick lands on its unsuspecting prey, it finds a warm, dark spot to attach itself. The tick will insert a probe into its host and suck blood. Although ticks can be harmless, they can carry a form of bacteria that causes Lyme disease.Things You'll Need

1
Part your hair to expose as much skin as possible. Apply soap and water to cotton swab. Wash the skin around the tick with cotton swab.
-
2
Use tweezers to gently remove tick from your head. Grab the tick as close as possible to your skin and pull in an upward motion. You do not want to leave the tick's head burrowed in your skin.
-
3
Use tweezers to remove the tick's head if it breaks off when initially removing the tick. If you are worried about infections, save the tick in a bottle of alcohol to bring to your doctor. If you do not want to save the tick, flush it in the toilet.
-
4
Wash the skin on your head around the bite with antibacterial soap. Have someone look through your hair to double-check that you have removed all ticks.
-
5
Wash your hands with antibacterial soap. Call your doctor if you want to bring the tick in for inspection or if you have any other concerns.
