How to Kill Ticks With Tweezers
Ticks attach to humans and animals when they're outside, especially in wooded areas and fields. Ticks carry a variety of diseases, such as Lyme disease, and need to be removed and killed immediately. Using tweezers to remove a tick is one of the more common methods people use to rid themselves of these pesky arachnids. Killing a tick with a pair of tweezers isn’t as easy as squishing one flat. If you don’t use precautions, you can spray the bacteria inside of the tick all over the place.Things You'll Need
- Toilet paper
- Paper or foam cup or bowl
- Hydrogen peroxide

1
Position the tweezers over the base of the tick. The Natural Pet Wonders website recommends gripping it where the tick meets the skin. Don't grip the round back end of the tick. Lift the tick up from the surface of the skin. Squeeze the tweezers hard enough to keep hold of the tick but not burst it or crush it.

2
Hold the tweezers and tick inside of a trashcan or toilet bowl. Squeeze the tweezers to squish the tick's body. Relax the grip on the tweezers and allow the tick to fall into the trashcan or toilet bowl. If parts of the tick stick to the tweezers, wipe them off with toilet paper. Toss the toilet paper into a trashcan or toilet. Flush the toilet or empty the trashcan.

Place the tweezers inside of a cup or bowl. Pour hydrogen peroxide over the tweezers. Let the tweezers sit in the mixture for 10 minutes. Rinse the tweezers with hot water, dry and put them away.

Douse the skin the tick clung to with hydrogen peroxide. If the person can clean it himself, he should after you remove the tick.
