How to Kill Bird Mites on Humans
Commonly referred to as pigeon or avian mites, the bird mite spends its lifetime searching for warm-blooded hosts such as house pets, avian creatures and humans. Bird mite infestation often occurs when mites from a nearby nest or tree enter through an open window of your home and infest your clothes, bedsheets and more. Much like bed bugs, mites cause itching, irritable skin and potential infection. Killing and removing bird mites from your skin will require exceptional hygiene and constant monitoring of your skin.Things You'll Need

1
Create a mixture of water and bleach in order to dilute the bleach. Check the bleach bottle to make sure you have the correct proportions of water mixed with it to create a safe applicant for your skin. Generally bleach solution should be a 10:1 ratio, meaning ten parts water to a one part concentrate of bleach.
-
2
Pour the mixture into a spray bottle so you can easily spray the solution on your skin during your shower.
-
3
Shower rather than bathe in the tub. Showering will rinse off the bird mites, while bathing will spread the mites around, but not fully kill them.
-
4
Scrub your body with Epsom salt applied onto a loofah. The scrubbing will take off any additional mites that may still be on your skin.
-
5
Continue monitoring your skin for bird mites. Although the rinse and scrubbing process should kill off all the bird mites on your skin immediately, other objects you come in contact with on a daily basis may still include bird mites. Getting rid of the infestation in your home may take weeks or months depending on the level of spread to other parts of your room or house.
