pH Levels & Cancer

Otto Warburg won a Nobel Prize for his findings that cancer thrives in anaerobic (low-pH, or acidic) conditions and cannot survive in an alkaline, or high-pH, environment.
  1. Effects

    • Studies performed by Keith Brewer, Ph.D., and H.E. Sartori demonstrated that raising the pH level of a cell to 8.0 creates a deadly environment for cancer.

    Function

    • The acidic pH of cancer cells decreases the oxygen-carrying capacity of the surrounding blood so that tissues become somewhat anaerobic--perfect conditions for cancer to thrive.

    Potential

    • pH therapy has been used successfully as an alternative or complementary cancer therapy in humans for cancers of the bladder, bone, brain, breast, colon, kidney, liver, lung, pancreas, prostate, ovaries, skin, stomach, throat, thyroid and metastasized melanoma. It has also been used successfully in animals, for feline, canine and equine cancer.

    History

    • A notable practitioner of pH cancer therapy was German physician Hans A. Nieper, M.D. Many U.S. celebrities and executives went to Germany to be treated by Dr. Nieper.

    Prevention/Solution

    • Regular exercise and a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables promote alkalinity in the body, which supports health. Contrarily, a diet high in processed foods and saturated fats, along with smoking and lack of exercise, promote acidic conditions, which harbor diseases, including cancers.
