Bicarbonate Treatment Cure for Cancer

Cancer is triggered by the abnormal growth of the body's own cells, according to information from the Mayo Clinic. If left untreated, over time these mutant cells will continue to spread and disrupt the body's own natural processes. While there are a number of conventionally accepted treatment methods for curing cancer, such as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatment, there are just as many (if not more) alternative treatments for the desperate patient. One of these involves the use of sodium bicarbonate. However, available scientific information does not demonstrate its effectiveness in treating cancer.
  1. Sodium Bicarbonate

    • Sodium bicarbonate (simple baking soda) has been espoused by some as an alternative measure for the treatment of a variety of cancers, operating under the theory that cancer is initially caused by an excessive amount of yeast within the body, according to information from the American Cancer Society. In sodium bicarbonate treatment, sodium bicarbonate is provided to the patient either intravenously through injection or orally. Other treatment methods include the injection of sodium bicarbonate into arteries near the tumor itself or directly into the lungs (in the case of lung cancer). Unfortunately, however, there are no studies that have been published in any medical journal that conclude that sodium bicarbonate is an effective cancer treatment method.

    Treatment Advice

    • Familiarize yourself with the potential risks if you nevertheless decide to engage in sodium bicarbonate treatment for cancer despite the lack of evidence. Sodium bicarbonate can be hazardous to the body when administered in large doses. While administration of sodium bicarbonate in moderate dosages is perfectly safe, the real danger of considering sodium bicarbonate treatment for cancer is that the patient might decide to forgo conventional and accepted therapy methods in favor of this unproven and seemingly ineffective methodology. For this reason, if you feel absolutely compelled to engage in sodium bicarbonate treatment for cancer, at least do so in addition to, as opposed to in lieu of, conventional medical treatments such as radiation therapy, chemotherapy and surgery.
