Can a man get women pregnant after he has had chemotherapy?

It is important to discuss fertility before starting cancer treatments that can affect fertility, such as chemotherapy. Chemotherapy drugs can damage the testicular cells that produce sperm, and this damage can be permanent. This means that a man who has had chemotherapy may be infertile, or have a reduced ability to father children.

However, it is still possible for a man to have children after chemotherapy, even if he is infertile. This is because some sperm may be stored in the testicles and protected from the damaging effects of chemotherapy. These sperm can be retrieved and used to fertilize eggs through techniques such as in vitro fertilization (IVF).

If a man is concerned about his fertility after chemotherapy, it is important to talk to a doctor. A doctor can assess the man's sperm count and motility, and recommend options for preserving fertility or for conceiving a child.
