How long numbness last after chemo treatments?

Numbness can be a side effect of certain chemotherapy drugs, but the duration and severity of the numbness can vary widely from person to person and depends on the specific drugs used, the individual's response, and the dosage of the chemotherapy.

In some cases, numbness may develop during chemotherapy and may persist for a few weeks after the treatment is completed. However, this numbness usually resolves gradually over time. In some cases, numbness may develop later on, known as late-onset peripheral neuropathy, and may persist for months or even longer in some individuals.

It's important to discuss the potential for numbness and any other side effects with your doctor prior to starting chemotherapy. Your doctor can provide you with more information about the specific risks associated with the chemotherapy drugs you are receiving and can monitor your condition to manage any side effects.
