Make a plan to feel less tired. Fatigue (feeling weak and tired) can make it difficult for you to complete even simple daily tasks. Take time off work or work fewer hours. Ask others for help and complete more important activities first.

2
Eat a healthy diet and stay hydrated. According to the National Cancer Institute, eating five to six small means throughout the day may help boost energy levels instead of eating three large meals. Carry a bottle of water (or other favorite hydrating drink) with you throughout the day to sip on. Stay away from spicy, fried or sweet foods, especially if they make you feel sick after eating them. If food tastes like metal, try eating with plastic forks and spoons. Avoid beer, wine and drinks with caffeine, especially if you have diarrhea.

3
Try to exercise daily. The National Cancer Institute says even 30 minutes of exercise a day can help combat fatigue. Yoga other forms of exercise may also be helpful. A short walk each day may also help boost energy and appetite.

Rest. If you are fighting fatigue, short one-hour naps throughout the day may help. Stay on a bedtime routine and try to get at least eight hours of sleep.

Take any medication as directed. Especially if you are experiencing nausea, take anti-nausea medication even on days when you feel well. Some patients feel better when they eat a small meal before treatment, others find they fare better on an empty stomach before chemotherapy. Pain medication often needs to be taken at specific times.
