WHAT IS DISSEMINATED ADENOCARCINOMA?
Disseminated adenocarcinoma is a type of cancer that starts in the glandular cells of an organ and then spreads to other parts of the body. It is the most common type of cancer, and it can affect any organ in the body. The most common sites for disseminated adenocarcinoma are the lungs, liver, lymph nodes, and bones.
Disseminated adenocarcinoma is usually diagnosed through a biopsy, which is a procedure in which a small sample of tissue is removed from the affected area and examined under a microscope. Treatment for disseminated adenocarcinoma may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and targeted therapy. The goal of treatment is to remove or destroy the cancer cells and to prevent them from spreading to other parts of the body.
The prognosis for disseminated adenocarcinoma depends on the stage of the cancer, the type of cancer, and the patient's overall health. The earlier the cancer is diagnosed and treated, the better the prognosis.
