Where is typhoid fever located in the body?

The bacteria that causes typhoid fever (Salmonella Typhi) primarily lives in the digestive tract of humans. Once ingested, the bacteria colonize the small intestine, where they multiply and cause inflammation and damage to the intestinal lining. This inflammation leads to the symptoms of typhoid fever, such as high fever, abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea.
