How to Your Liver

1. Eat a healthy diet.

* Drink plenty of water. Water helps to flush toxins out of your body and can help to prevent dehydration.

2. Maintain a healthy weight.

Being overweight or obese can increase your risk of liver disease. Aim for a healthy weight by eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly.

3. Get regular exercise.

Exercise can help to improve liver function and reduce your risk of liver disease. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise most days of the week.

4. Avoid alcohol.

Alcohol is toxic to the liver and can cause damage even in small amounts. If you drink alcohol, do so in moderation. Women should limit themselves to one drink per day, and men should limit themselves to two drinks per day.

5. Quit smoking.

Smoking can damage the liver and increase your risk of liver disease. If you smoke, quit as soon as possible.

6. Avoid contact with toxins.

Certain toxins, such as pesticides, herbicides, and solvents, can damage the liver. Avoid contact with these toxins as much as possible.

7. Get vaccinated against hepatitis A and B.

Hepatitis A and B are two viruses that can cause liver damage. There are vaccines available to protect you from these viruses.

8. Talk to your doctor about your medications.

Some medications can damage the liver. Talk to your doctor about your medications and ask if they may be harmful to your liver.
