The overall lung cancer incidence rate in the United States has decreased in recent years, but lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer deaths. According to the American Cancer Society, the age-adjusted incidence rate of lung cancer in the US decreased by 1.5% per year from 2008 to 2018.
