How many nonsmokers die of lung cancer each year from exposure secondhand smoking?

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that secondhand smoke causes about 41,000 deaths each year in the United States. This includes about 2,500 deaths among nonsmokers from lung cancer.
