Position for patient having right pneumonectomy lung cancer?

Supine position

The patient is positioned supine with the unaffected lung up. This allows for better expansion of the unaffected lung and helps to prevent atelectasis. The ipsilateral arm is usually placed at the side of the body, while the contralateral arm is placed across the chest. This helps to support the unaffected lung and prevent it from collapsing.

Other considerations

* The patient may be placed in a slight Trendelenburg position to help with drainage of secretions.

* The patient's head and neck should be supported with pillows.

* The patient should be monitored closely for any signs of respiratory distress.
