Multiple Myeloma: When Should You See a Doctor?
Seek immediate medical attention if:- You experience bone pain that worsens with movement or is located in your back or ribs
- You have persistent fatigue that doesn't improve with rest
- You have unexplained weight loss
- You develop frequent infections or have slow-healing wounds
- You notice changes in your urine, such as increased thirst, frequent urination, or dark-colored urine
- Your blood tests reveal anemia or low red blood cell count
In addition, it's important to schedule a doctor's visit if:
- You are over 50 years of age and have concerns about myeloma risk factors, such as a personal or family history of the condition
- You have any unusual symptoms that persist for more than a few weeks and affect your daily life
