What type of cancer is carcinoid?
Carcinoid is a type of cancer that starts in the cells that produce hormones. These cells are found in many parts of the body, including the lungs, stomach, intestines, and pancreas. Carcinoid tumors can be cancerous or non-cancerous. Cancers that start in the large intestine are called colon cancer or rectum cancer, depending on the part of the large intestine where they start.
