How to Take Apricot Seeds

Apricot seeds are often used by cancer patients to help boost their immune system. Containing high levels of vitamin B17, these bitter seeds can be dangerous if not consumed in the proper amounts. Apricot seeds contain amygdalin, which can release toxic levels of cyanide into the blood stream if too much is consumed. Before starting an apricot seed regimen, talk to your doctor to make sure apricot seeds are right for you.

Instructions

    • 1

Grind two dried apricot seeds in a nut grinder. You want a consistency like chopped nuts when you are done.

    • 2

Sprinkle ground apricot seeds into juice, yogurt or pudding to diminish the bitterness of the seeds.

    • 3

Combine two whole dried apricot seeds with a handful of dried fruits and nuts to create a trail mix. The dried fruits in the mix will help mask the bitterness of apricot seeds and may help battle nausea caused by eating apricot seeds.

    • 4

Consume no more than two apricot seeds per day.
