What Cancers Are Caused by Smoking?

Smoking causes the most cancer-related deaths. Deaths from cancer could be prevented due to the fact that smoking is by choice. Nearly half of a million people die every year because of smoking, with nearly 30 percent of deaths being caused by cancer. Lung cancer is the top killer of smoking, though there are various other forms of cancer related to smoking.

    Cervix Cancer

    • Many women who smoke increase their risk of developing cervix, uterine and vulvar cancer.

    Pancreatic Cancer

    • Smoking has been known to contribute to pancreatic cancer in people.

    Considerations

    • Cigarettes are known to contain more than 43 known carcinogens, which are absorbed through inhalation and by smoking. If you are a smoker, seek help in quitting in order to prevent future illnesses as a result of smoking.
