Medical Information on Ovarian Cancer
There are four stages of ovarian cancer. In stage I, the tumor is confined to an ovary. In stage II, there is a tumor on both ovaries. Stage III ovarian cancer means there is a tumor in both ovaries and that the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes outside of the ovaries. Stage IV ovarian cancer means that the cancer is in both ovaries and it has spread to the liver.-
Symptoms

Symptoms of ovarian cancer may include feeling of fullness, bloating, frequent urination, indigestion, nausea, loss of appetite and pain during intercourse. However, in many cases, individuals with ovarian cancer have no symptoms.
Diagnosis

Diagnosis of ovarian cancer is usually determined from imaging techniques. An MRI or CAT Scan can reveal ovarian cancer.
Treatment Options

Surgery is almost always recommended, followed by chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
Risk Factors

Women who have a history of breast cancer in their family are at a greater risk of developing ovarian cancer. Woman over the age of 50 and postmenopausal are the most like candidates for ovarian cancer.

Tumors develop from egg-cells and can also occur from progesterone tissue.
