What number is high PSA level?
A normal PSA level for men under the age of fifty is considered to be under 2.5 ng/mL. This level can increase slightly with age. A PSA level between 2.5 ng/mL and 4 ng/mL is considered to be borderline high, and a PSA level of 4 ng/mL or above is considered to be high.
Some men may have a slightly elevated PSA level that does not indicate the presence of a serious problem. However, it is important to see a doctor if your PSA level is elevated, as it may be a sign of an underlying medical condition, such as prostatitis or prostate cancer. Your doctor will recommend the appropriate course of action based on your individual situation.
