Can a man give you STD if he has prostate infection?

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are usually transmitted through sexual contact with an infected person, and prostate infection is not considered a sexually transmitted infection. While some STIs can cause inflammation and infection of the prostate, prostate infection itself is not typically transmitted through sexual contact.

However, certain sexually transmitted bacteria, such as Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae, can spread to the prostate gland and cause prostatitis, which is inflammation of the prostate. In such cases, an infected individual may transmit the STI to their sexual partners through unprotected sexual intercourse.

Therefore, it is crucial to practice safe sex by using condoms and communicating openly with your sexual partners about STI testing and prevention to reduce the risk of transmission of STIs, including those that may affect the prostate.
