Does Atypical adenomatous hyperplasia cause cancer?

Atypical adenomatous hyperplasia (AAH) is a precancerous condition in which the cells in the breast have some abnormal changes, but they are not yet cancerous. AAH is considered to be a high-risk condition for developing breast cancer, but it is not guaranteed to progress to cancer. In fact, studies have shown that only about 10-15% of women with AAH will eventually develop breast cancer. However, because of the increased risk, women with AAH are often advised to have regular mammograms and breast exams to monitor for any changes. Additionally, they may be prescribed medications to help reduce the risk of developing breast cancer.
