How to Use Herbs After Prostate Surgery

Urinary incontinence is the most common side effect following prostate surgery. The best herbs for this condition are horsetail, and nettles. Horsetail is high in silica, which will help regenerate the bladder's connective tissue, weakened during surgery. Nettle leaf provides a wide array of vitamins, and minerals. It is also anti-inflammatory, and diuretic. By taking a daily infusion, it will keep the bladder flushed. The root along with saw palmetto is used to prevent the prostate gland from enlarging, serving as an effective preventative measure for cancer re-occurrence. Additionally, one may support the recovery process with exercise and a fiber rich, caffeine free diet.
