Prostate cancer is grows in the tissues of the prostate. In males, the prostate stores and secretes a fluid that helps make up semen, spermatozoa and seminal vesicle fluid. Prostate cancer most often affects older men. A proper diet helps in the prevention of prostate cancer.
  1. Fatty foods

    • Diets high in fatty foods have been found to increase the risk of prostate cancer.

    Omega-3

    • Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids can help prevent prostate cancer. Cold water fish like salmon, herring and mackerel are high in omega-3 fatty acids.

    Green Tea

    • The antioxidants in green tea can help prevent prostate cancer. Green tea contains antioxidants like polyphenols that have been proven to help the body fend off disease.

    Soy and Legumes

    • Estrogen is often used to treat cancer, and soy and legumes have plant-based chemicals (phytoestrogens) that act like estrogen.

    Grains

    • Whole grains like brown rice and whole wheat help keep the body healthy to fend off disease. Grains found in alcohol, however, can have a harmful effect.
