What is an x ray wave?

An x-ray is a penetrating form of high-energy electromagnetic radiation. Most x-rays have a wavelength ranging from 0.01 to 10 nanometers, which is shorter than that of visible light but longer than gamma rays. This range corresponds to frequencies between 30 petahertz and 30 exahertz (3×1016 Hz to 3×1019 Hz).
