How many years of schooling do you need for x-ray tech?
Typically, a 2-year associate degree program is required to become an X-ray technician, also known as a radiologic technologist. These programs are offered at community colleges, technical schools, and hospitals. They cover topics such as radiation safety, patient care, and imaging techniques.
Some states may also require additional training or certification for X-ray technicians. For example, in California, X-ray technicians must complete a state-approved training program and pass a licensing exam.
After completing their education and training, X-ray technicians can work in a variety of settings, such as hospitals, clinics, and doctor's offices. They may also work in mobile X-ray units that travel to patients' homes or workplaces.
