Are Thermograms are produced by X-rays?

Thermograms are not produced by X-rays. Instead, they are created by detecting variations in the amount of infrared radiation emitted off the surface of an object.

X-rays are highly penetrating electromagnetic waves that are used to produce images of the inside of the body. Since they are a form of ionizing radiation, prolonged exposure can damage living tissues and the DNA inside the cells. To minimize the risk of damage to the body, X-rays are only taken when absolutely necessary. They are also used for security purposes at airports and other high-security locations.
