Malignant Melanoma Assistance Programs

Being told you have cancer is always a life-changing moment. According to the Melanoma Support and Education Foundation, 54,000 people are diagnosed with malignant melanoma in the United States each year and 8,000 will die. Blondes, redheads and those with fair skin and freckles are most likely to get melanomas, but everyone is vulnerable. Malignant melanoma is frightening, but there are programs to assist you or loved ones in fighting this disease.
  1. Tiffany's Melanoma Foundation

    • Started by parents who lost their daughter to the disease when she was 24, this foundation's mission includes providing financial assistance to people battling melanoma. Their site states that aid goes to families with someone who has melanoma who is unable to work due to chemotherapy treatment. They also serve as a referral service for patients seeking funds to other sources of assistance, and they work to educate the public on prevention and treatment of the disease.
