Signs and Symptoms of Gastric Cancer

Gastric cancer affects your stomach, an organ that is part of your digestive system. Several things may increase your risk of developing this type of cancer, so knowing the signs and symptoms is very important.
  1. Stomach Pain

    • Stomach cancer will most likely cause some indigestion and stomach discomfort in the early stages of the disease. Once the cancer becomes more advanced, the pain may become worse.

    Bloating

    • With stomach cancer, you may feel bloated, even though you may experience unexplained weight loss. This may be from fluid build-up in your abdomen.

    Eating

    • You may experience loss of appetite during the early stages of this type of cancer. Later on, you may have trouble swallowing while eating.

    Jaundice

    • You may develop jaundice, which will make your skin tone and the whites of your eyes a light yellow color.

    Nausea

    • Another symptom of gastric cancer is nausea, which may develop into vomiting in later stages of the disease. This could explain some of the weight loss, which is another symptom.
