My ept test showed dots where the positive was suppose to be so does that mean it is or negative?

If the EPT (Early Pregnancy Test) showed dots or broken lines where the positive result line is supposed to be, the test is most likely invalid. An EPT result is either a clear positive (two lines within the result window) or a negative result (single line only within the result window).

Invalid results can occur due to several factors, including:

1. Incorrect Test Procedure: Not following the test instructions properly, such as not waiting the recommended time before reading the results, might result in invalid lines or dots appearing.

2. Expiry Date: Using an expired EPT kit can also lead to invalid results.

3. Incorrect Urine Sample: Using a diluted urine sample or not collecting the urine correctly might affect the test accuracy.

4. Manufacturing Defect: Rarely, manufacturing defects can cause the EPT kit to malfunction and give invalid results.

To confirm your pregnancy status accurately, it is advisable to either repeat the EPT with a new test kit or visit your healthcare provider for a blood pregnancy test, which is highly sensitive and provides definitive results.

If you have concerns about the test result or are experiencing any pregnancy symptoms, it's always best to consult with a healthcare professional for proper guidance and clarification.
