Throat cancer can lead to such painful symptoms and conditions as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath or difficulty swallowing.
Warning Sign

One should never dismiss an occurrence of coughing up blood. This serious symptom can serve as a red flag for such life-threatening conditions as throat cancer.
Change in Appearance

An altered appearance may begin to take place when throat cancer is present, the most visible symptom being unintentional weight loss. You may also notice enlarged lymph nodes or overall swelling in the neck.
Prevention/Solution

If you experience any of these symptoms it is imperative that you cease use of cigarettes and other tobacco products to help aid in your recovery.
