What is the resembling a normal thyroid?

The normal thyroid gland is typically small, soft, and butterfly-shaped. It is located in the front of the neck, just below the Adam's apple. The normal thyroid gland is usually not visible or palpable (felt) through the skin. When examined by a doctor, the normal thyroid gland should feel smooth, symmetrical, and mobile (able to move). The normal thyroid gland should not be tender or painful to the touch.
