What Is Overfocused ADD?
Doctor's recognize six types of Attention Deficit Disorder. One of those types is called "overfocused." Children with this type of ADD have trouble shifting their attention from one topic to another.-
Opposition

Children with overfocused ADD may also struggle with oppositional problems. Their psychological need to focus on one thing might make them openly defiant to attempts to refocus them. These children often get caught in negative thought loops that lead to angry behavior.
Worry

Children with overfocused ADD often experience excessive worrying. Being forced to shift their attention without sufficient lead-in time can make this symptom worse. Children may worry about the subject of their hyperfocus.
Perseverance

Children with overfocused ADD have the tendency to grab onto an idea or course of action and hold onto it despite being told it may have negative consequences. This level of dedication can be a positive when channeled into positive behavior.
