Symptoms of ADD in 3 Year Olds
Children and adults can both get ADD. ADD stands for attention deficit disorder. The symptoms of ADD typically appear in children by the age of 7. Here are some symptoms of ADD in 3-year-old children.-
Inattentive
-
Many times a 3-year-old who is inattentive is overlooked because they are not being disruptive. The biggest signs of being inattentive is not following rules or daydreaming.
Impulsive
-
It is normal for a 3-year-old to be impulsive. Look at the severity of the impulsiveness. If your 3-year-old is extremely impulsive, then they may have ADD. Being impulsive is when your child does something without thinking of the consequences, interrupts you, invades personal space and makes tactless observations.
Fidgeting
-
Fidgeting is when your child cannot seem to be still. Playing with their hair, fingernails and clothes is a type of fidgeting. Children may also rock back and forth or wiggle their feet.
Forgetting
-
Three-year-old children with ADD often forget things that they were just told. The child may appear to have little or no short-term memory.
Excessive Talking
-
While some 3-year-old children with ADD will be excessively quiet and daydream, others will be excessive talkers. Excessive talkers with ADD tend to interrupt others and try to talk louder than anyone else.
