Why dopamine be administered orally for the treatment of Disease?
Dopamine cannot be administered orally because it is not well-absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Additionally, dopamine is extensively metabolized in the gut and blood before it can reach the brain, where it is needed to treat diseases such as Parkinson's disease. Instead, dopamine is typically administered through intravenous infusion, subcutaneous injection, or intraventricular injection to ensure proper delivery to the target site and achieve the desired therapeutic effect.
