Can ibuprofen help with allergic reaction?
Ibuprofen is NOT recommended as the first line of treatment for allergic reactions.
Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that can be used to reduce inflammation and pain. While it may help to relieve some of the symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as swelling and discomfort, it is not an effective treatment for the underlying allergic response.
Antihistamines are typically the first line of treatment for allergic reactions, as they work to block the effects of histamine, a chemical that is released during an allergic reaction and causes many of the symptoms.
In severe cases of allergic reaction, such as anaphylaxis, epinephrine (adrenaline) is the first line of treatment, and should be administered immediately.
If you are experiencing an allergic reaction, it is important to seek medical attention immediately. Do not rely on ibuprofen alone to treat the reaction, as it may not be effective in preventing serious complications.
